Prospects Back On Winning Track
By Len Nunes

The Edmonton Prospects enjoyed a 5-game win streak starting on July 2nd. After consecutive 1-run losses to the division leading Medicine Hat Mavericks, our Prospects found their way back to the win column Saturday night versus the defending WMBL champion Lethbridge Bulls.

The Prospects defeated the Bulls 15-1 on a night where each starting batter collected at least one hit. Leading the way at the dish were Cory Scammell (4-5) and Griffy Goyer (3-5). In terms of collecting RBI’s, four different players collected 2: Griffy Goyer, Tony Olson, Kody Funderburk, and Colin Kreiter.

Kreiter’s glove was golden out in left field making two great catches. In the second inning, Kreiter went full Superman dive to rob the Bulls of an extra base hit, an extra base hit they desperately needed already down 5-0. In the sixth inning, Kreiter would chase a fly ball down right at the wall helping make sure the leadoff walk allowed did not come around to score.

A day/night doubleheader versus these same defending champion Lethbridge Bulls with the first game starting at 2PM. The second game goes at 7PM.
